Is news trading allowed in the Stellar 2-Step account?
TL;DR: Yes, news trading is allowed in the Stellar 2-Step Challenge. However, once you receive your ZeroPoint Account, the News Profit Split Rule applies—only 40% of profits made within 5 minutes before or after a listed high-impact news event will be counted. Losses during this period are fully applied.
ZeroPoint permits news trading across all account types, including the Stellar 2-Step Challenge and ZeroPoint Account. That said, traders must follow specific guidelines to avoid violations, especially once they receive the ZeroPoint Account.
News trading in the Challenge Phase
- You are free to open, close, or hold trades during high-impact news events.
- No restrictions or profit adjustments apply during the Challenge Phases.
News trading in the ZeroPoint Account
Once you transition to the ZeroPoint Account, a News Profit Split Rule applies:
- Time Window: 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after any listed high-impact news event.
- Profit Adjustment: Only 40% of profit from trades opened or closed within this 10-minute window will be counted toward your account balance.
- Losses: Losses during this window are fully applied and not adjusted.
- Applies to both market execution and pending orders (SL/TP triggers included).
Note
ZeroPoint cannot be held responsible for any market volatility or losses that result from trades placed during news hours.
